PART 1
What to say?! Even though by now I have done several dives to over 90, it’s a whole different feeling having finally done it in a competition! I didn’t experienced much stress for the dive in itself, but today we had quite rough conditions; the surface was quite wild and the rope was jumping up and down like a yo-yo making breathing up very challenging and pulling quite annoying because you’re not able to get into a good rhythm and you find yourself trying to time your pulls with the rope movement. I was also concerned about my wrecked neck because it affects also my shoulder and I was a bit worried about pulling up from 90 without fins as back-up.
Anyhow, despite all this, my dive didn’t feel harder than those I did in training, but it all felt a bit like a dream that left me with a soft and muffled memory made up more by feelings than actions. Yesterday’s dive (85m bifins) also felt nice and relaxed even if usually I’m quite nervous on day 1 of a competition.
I know I did the dive and all the work, but the brain behind this whole operation deserves a big chunk of recognition because without him I’d probably still be messing around in the 70’ies where I was stuck forever. Thanks to Goran Colak, I couldn’t ask for a better coach (and he makes me laugh a lot, free of charge)
